Since discovering an eyebrow pencil at 15, I've used one every single day! Since been 15, I've had horrendously thin brows (over waxed) and black brows (Morticia comes to mind) but anyway I've gotten into a pretty time consuming habit of drawing them on daily.
I had a browse (no pun intended) online about having my brows made permanent. I looking at microblading and tattooing. There happened to be a local semi permanent makeup artist offering eyebrow tattooing for £180... I had to give it a go! The procedure is split over two appointments to ensure the desired look is achieved.
Here is what my au natural eyebrows were like before any tattooing had commenced. They were quite mousy brown which is my natural horrible hair colour and very over waxed which meant they were uneven and quite 'gappy'.
I liked to draw my eyebrows on quite straight with a nice high arch to make my face look less round! Here's me with one drawn on and one natural. When I went to my appointment I had my eyebrows drawn on so the artist could see how I liked them.
The entire procedure lasted around 2 hours. Numbing cream was applied 25 mins before the procedure was started. There was lots of drawing and rubbing out to make sure the shape was perfect. I went for a natural light brown colour was I was very conscious about wanting them to look as natural as possible.
Here is immediately after the procedure! They're were dark and started to scab over. I had to apply a Vaseline type ointment to keep them moist and to prevent itching.
About a week after the procedure, all of the scabs had come off and the skin had healed. Here was the result! I loved them as they were so natural.
Four weeks after my first appointment, I was due back to have the procedure done all over again. By this point I had gotten used to my new brows and admittedly I was beginning to draw them on again! Granted they weren't as thin or light as before but I'd started adding bits to them to make them thicker and darker.
That's when I went back for the second procedure I told the artist I wanted them thicker with more of an arch and wanted them a medium brown colour.
Here are the results immediately after the procedure!
They were so much darker the second time round which made me quite self conscious for the first few days but I knew that once the scabs had come off they'd be lighter.
The finished result after the two appointments!
I'm absolutely thrilled with my new eyebrows! I can now wake up in a morning, look half decent and I don't have to spend 15 minutes drawing them on everyday. They are definitely worth the £180 and they should last 2-5 years depending on my skin type.
This was semi permanent tattooing NOT microblading.
Happy brow days!
Doll xoxo
